Is Sedona resident friendly? Part one

No one can deny  Sedona is unique and beautiful. Is it as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside? Asking questions and finding an accurate sources is not as easy as it should be.  Is Sedona and the greater Sedona region becoming unlivable?

Does the local governing boards critically think of the unintended consequences on the decisions and spending they make?

Is our governing boards to cozy with special interests to make the right decisions for a fair community?

What is the impact on the community from these decisions?

Who is what, and what’s what is part of what Just Facts EDU is about. Just Facts EDU is a charitable organization that is focused on building communities using a toolbox of education, research, and analysis for community outreach and participation under a protected umbrella removing conflicts of interests and allowing our communities to move forward with educated, neutral information.

Knowing who does what is the first step. Below is a info graphic shows the relationship of the City of Sedona, governing boards, property taxes and how the overlap and jurisdiction borders are.

Understanding the impact of the decisions of these governing boards and how those decisions effect the Quality of Life for the residents with be addressed item by item using a propriety process of Just Facts EDU  as passion of late Co-founder Henry Twombly developed by the Just Facts EDU Board of Directors think tank.

Sedona has gone through many changes over the last ten years. The question of livability for the community arising with higher cost of living, property taxes (yavapai County) going past  1% asset value, Big Park School closing while the School board requesting the voters to maintain maintenance bond while 50% of schools assets are not being used for the school district classrooms.

The Sedona population is flat-lined, many are moving out. Why is that? How can one of the most beautiful places be driving people out? To understand this, the Just Facts process of slowing it down, critical think, separate any conflicts,  follow the money and go to source based information, data to analytically review and making this information readily available to the public.  By doing so we place logic over emotion allowing our communities to move forward creating a enhanced “Quality of Life”   for the community at large.

Why do this together as a charitable nonprofit? Connecting the Dots, locating documents, sources, and data is very time consuming. Making a tractable record to ensure quality of accuracy is a process. Time is a value asset that most of the public doesn’t have. The sudden passing our our beloved Henry Twombly reminds us the life is short and we can all be gone tomorrow. We have full time paid organizations, groups, businesses, nonprofits working full time to ensure they and their groups are enriched, paid, benefiting and their paid positions along with the voting blocs they represent are controlling and directing our communities across america.

What happens in Sedona doesn’t stay in Sedona. The issues of Quality of Life that face Sedona are as unique as it’s beauty.

Recently a question was raised whether a guest house could be used for a long term rental in the city limits of Sedona. An article was published in a local paper

In looking through documents to get to shed some light on the truth I went directly to the City of Sedona website. I couldn’t find any new documents with a quick google , couldn’t see guest house on any agendas so I looked at the complete agenda on land code to see if it was buried there.
